Gas exporting countries Forum (GECF) held the 3rd executive commitee meeting in Doha,Qatar on December 9th with the presence of 11 member countries including Algeria,Libya,Egypt,Iran,Russia,Nigeria,Trinidad and Tobago.according to Public relation of NIGC news the GECF disscused about the forum next sixth month budget,human resources andmainly to choose a secretary general.

in this meeting that Venezuela is the chair of executive board,every delegates of mentioned countries introduces themselves and explain their planning.

in case of the OPEC gas countries do not agree and elect a chairman for the event that choice will be alphabetical which will give the greatest chance to Algeria considering the key role of Iran within the organizational chart of forum,it has made the great efforts to achieve this goal.

the previous convention of gas exporting countries forum washeld last year (July) in Qatar and as Iran had just introduced his delegates for tenure of secretary general forum ,election of secretary general dependent upon the future ministerial convention in December and ratified that Mr.Abdolah Alatieh,Oil Minister of Qatar will be the head of convention untill the secretary general will be elected and he has the full authority of secretary general.

the headof Ministerial convention will be elected from Algeria in 2010 and the deputy of Ministerial convention will be elected from venezuela.
