Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Namdar Zangeneh said Iran will need an investment of 4 billion dollars for completion of Iran LNG project.
Zangeneh said cooperation of Iran and Russia, as the first and second holders of the largest gas reserves in the world, can be very determining in the global gas market, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
“We held useful talks with the managing director of the world’s largest producer and exporter of natural gas,” the official said.
It’s worth mentioning that, the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and Russia’s Gazprom have signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on gas cooperation in Tehran on Wednesday.
The first agreement, described as a “gas collaboration roadmap”, was signed by NIOC Managing Director Ali Kardor and Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.
The second MoU, aimed at completing Iran’s liquefied natural gas project known as “Iran LNG”, was concluded by Ali Kardor, Alexei Miller and Nosrat Rahimi, the head of the board of directors at the Iran’s Oil Industry Pension Funds.
